Lean Manufacturing Engineer | Manistee, MI

Salary Range: $79,000 - $119,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping).
  • Analyzes manufacturing processes to identify waste, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Develops and implements standardized work procedures to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Leads cross-functional teams in problem-solving and process improvement projects.
  • Trains and mentors production staff on Lean principles and tools.
  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of Lean initiatives.
  • Designs and optimizes facility layouts for improved material flow and productivity.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience implementing Lean methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, and other Lean tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
Bonus Qualifications
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Experience with simulation software (e.g., Arena, Flex Sim)
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., IoT, AI)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
