Shop Foreman | Manistee, MI

Salary Range: $65,000 - $98,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Manistee seeking Shop Foremans who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop operations and production schedules.
• Supervise, train, and mentor a team of manufacturing technicians.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair of shop equipment and machinery.
• Manage material inventory and procurement for production needs.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in a manufacturing shop environment
• 2+ years experience in a leadership or supervisory role
• Proven ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and schematics
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and quality control procedures
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
• Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Demonstrated ability to train and mentor junior technicians.
• Certification in a specialized trade (e.g., welding, hydraulics, electrical).
• Bilingual proficiency (especially relevant for diverse work forces).
