Salary Range: $61,000 - $96,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Manistee that are seeking skilled CNC Lathe Programmers. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and implement CNC programs for lathe machines.
  • Create and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and G-code.
  • Optimize machining parameters to reduce cycle times and improve efficiency.
  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for various projects.
  • Conduct first-article inspections and troubleshoot programming errors.
  • Collaborate with engineers and machinists to refine manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in manufacturing technology or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in CNC lathe programming, setup, and operation.
  • Proficient in G-code and M-code programming; experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM) is essential.
  • Strong understanding of tooling, fixtures, and part holding methods for lathe operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering specifications.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail for optimizing machining processes.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with 5-axis machining or mill-turn operations.
  • Proficiency in a second CAD/CAM software (e.g., Solid Works, Fusion 360).
  • Familiarity with automation technologies (e.g., robotic part loading, automated tool changers).
  • Experience with G-code simulation and verification software.
  • Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
