Safety Coordinator

The Safety Coordinator promotes and ensures safety and compliance with company policies and all applicable OSHA regulations. Conducts safety audits and training programs. Promotes a strong safety culture.

Role + Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):

  • Write customer response letters and manage direct contact with customers and vendors.
  • Collaborate with the EHS manager to educate, interpret, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
  • Align safety goals with customer-focused organizational objectives.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety, health, and environmental systems, providing EHS expertise across the organization.
  • Adopt a 'team first' approach for training, audits, inspections, and corrective action plans.
  • Proactively address unsafe behaviors, coaching employees on safer alternatives in real time.
  • Prepare site-specific safety documents and handle safety queries from customer jobsites.
  • Partner with leadership, customers, vendors, and others to foster safe work environments.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement efforts for safety policies and programs.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Environmental Health & Safety, or Industrial Management preferred.
  • Experience:

    minimum 5 years of manufacturing safety experience, preferably in a custom metal fabrication or machining environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and able to navigate and extract data from the ERP.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with others to include multiple site groups, customers, vendors, and potential customers.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing and maintaining the ISO 14000 family of standards and OSHAS 18001.

Travel to other Robinson facilities may be required.
