Job Type: Part-time

Schedule: Evenings and weekends, dependent upon performance schedule

Roncalli Catholic Schools is seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative Production Technical Consultant to support the technical aspects of theatrical productions at Roncalli High School. This position serves as the liaison between directors and the technical crew, overseeing lighting, sound, stage management, equipment maintenance, and production logistics while mentoring students in technical theater. The Production Technical Consultant plays a vital role in creating high-quality performances while fostering teamwork, creativity, and student learning in a faith-centered environment.

• Train and mentor student technical crew members in sound, lighting, and stage management.
• Collaborate with directors to develop cue sheets and technical production plans.
• Design and oversee the technical stage layout for productions.
• Coordinate and supervise technical rehearsals before performances.
• Direct the timing and execution of lighting, sound, and special effects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during rehearsals and performances.
• Communicate logistical concerns to directors and production staff.
• Maintain and organize theater equipment and technical inventory.
• Develop storage plans and oversee proper maintenance of production equipment.
• Lead and supervise the student technical crew throughout the production process.

Successful candidates will possess:

• Bachelor's degree in Stage Production, Theater Management, Technical Theater, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in stage management, theatrical production, or technical theater.
• Working knowledge of lighting, sound systems, stage equipment, and theater technology.
• Ability to maintain and repair technical equipment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with directors, staff, volunteers, and students.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized production environment.

This position follows the rehearsal and performance schedule for Roncalli theatrical productions and may include:

• Evening rehearsals
• Weekend performances
• Additional planning and preparation as needed throughout the production season

• Pass a criminal background check.
• Complete and maintain Virtus Safe Environment training.
• Support the mission and Catholic values of Roncalli Catholic Schools.
