Manufacturing Operations Supervisor

At Heiden, we build high-quality custom metal fabrication products that our customers depend on every day. This role plays a key part in keeping production moving efficiently while supporting quality, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the shop floor.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who leads from the floor, communicates well with teams, and enjoys improving processes in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. We are looking for a leader with strong fabrication and operations experience who can support employees, drive workflow, and help build a strong team culture.

Candidates with Continuous Improvement (CI/Lean Manufacturing) experience are strongly preferred.

A Day in the Life

• Lead daily manufacturing operations for Operators, Fabrication Support & Support employees
• Support and collaborate with second‑shift leadership
• Plan, schedule, and allocate labor/resources to meet production goals
• Monitor workflow, labor utilization, and production priorities
• Identify process improvements and cost‑saving opportunities
• Help maintain quality, safety, and compliance standards
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of production challenges
• Communicate across departments to keep operations running smoothly
• Foster a positive, accountable, and team‑oriented environment
• Support employee coaching, development, and training

• Production runs efficiently with minimal disruptions
• Teams communicate well and stay aligned on priorities
• Process improvements are consistently identified and implemented
• Employees feel supported, accountable, and engaged
• Quality and safety expectations are consistently met
• Production goals are achieved through teamwork and strong leadership

• 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or production
• 3+ years of metal fabrication experience preferred
• CI/Lean Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Experience with scheduling, task management, and workflow coordination
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication prints
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and Microsoft Office
• Union or structured manufacturing experience is a plus
