  • Check equipment and production areas before start-up and during operation to verify they are clean, safe, and ready for use.
  • Monitor product safety and quality throughout the shift, ensuring adherence to established specifications and standards.
  • Review production parameters and verify compliance through direct observation and record reviews.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and changeover inspections to ensure equipment and lines meet requirements before production begins or resumes.
  • Document any issues, nonconformances, or deviations identified during rounds, and record the corrective actions taken.
  • Support root-cause investigations by accurately capturing data, observations, and trends related to product quality or process issues.
  • Participate in improvement efforts by providing feedback and data to help refine processes and enhance product quality and food safety.
  • Conduct SSOP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure) inspections while the plant is running to confirm sanitation practices meet requirements.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete records of inspections, checks, and production parameters in both paper and electronic formats.
  • Use computer systems to enter, verify, and update data collected from production rounds and inspections.
  • Collaborate with other team members in QX Systems, Blending and Offline Projects, or Dock and Offline Projects to ensure smooth, compliant operations.
  • Follow all food safety, quality, and workplace safety procedures and report any concerns promptly.
  • Stand and move throughout the production floor for extended periods while performing inspections and checks.
  • Handle general production tasks such as assembly, general labor, packaging, and microscope-based inspection as needed to support operations.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with production, inspection, and quality inspection in a manufacturing setting.
  • Working knowledge of food safety practices and standards within a production environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk on the production floor for 8 or more hours per shift.
  • Strong basic math skills, including the ability to divide, multiply, and work with fractions and decimals.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy when monitoring production parameters and completing records.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, including SSOPs, pre-operational checks, and changeover inspections.
  • Strong observational skills to identify equipment, process, or product issues during production.
  • Capability to work independently on assigned routes and tasks while coordinating with the broader production team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting root-cause investigations and process improvement initiatives in a production or quality environment.
  • Familiarity with QX Systems, blending operations, dock operations, or offline project work in a manufacturing setting.
  • Comfort working with both paper-based and electronic recordkeeping systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with production, quality, and maintenance teams regarding issues and corrective actions.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple checkpoints, inspections, and documentation tasks within a shift.
