Position Summary
As a Machinist II you would set-up, adjust, and operate CNC Turning Center machines and be capable of tending multiple machines. Reset tools as required to produce parts within close limits where finish requirements are difficult to maintain.
Responsibilities- Set-up, adjust, and operate CNC Turning Center machines
- Be capable of tending multiple machines in a production mode
- Required to keep maintenance and production logs
- Work from blueprints, operation sheets, programs, specifications, and verbal instructions
- Maintain tools and machine adjustments
- Must be accountable for process, evaluation, measurement, documentation, and improvement on a continuous basis
- Reset tools as required to produce parts within close limits where finish requirements are difficult to maintain
- Check set-up and production parts using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments
- Actively participate in department and process team activities and projects
- Ability to work overtime as required, including extended shifts & weekends, to meet business needs
- Must be capable of following and meeting standard work requirements
- Must be able to use computer programs to assist in recording data, making labels, printing tooling layouts, obtaining prints and specifications, printing ship-sets, etc.
- Promote positive teamwork
- Able to foster professionalism with all associates along with internal and external customers
- High School diploma or GED
- Short term trade training in NC or CNC (1-2 years)
- Qualified in S.P.C.
- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Sound decision making skills
- Have a knowledge and understanding of conventional/ conversational programming
- Good math, reading and writing skills
- Basic computer skills
- Be capable of using a variety of measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, bevel protractor, scales, etc.
- Must be able to read blueprints and drawings
