Scope / MissionOperate various material handling equipment in the movement of raw materials, finished goods, and miscellaneous items.
Key Responsibilities / Accountability- Exercise good safety practices to prevent accidents and report unsafe conditions to the Production Coordinator.
- Receive, transport, and store materials following established stock control procedures, including unloading trailers and using the computer system.
- Stock production components according to established methods.
- Check that materials, components, supplies, and products are correct in identity, quantity, and appearance.
- Prepare complete and accurate records as required.
- Perform miscellaneous duties assigned by supervisor.
- Assist line workers as needed.
- Stand, reach above shoulder level, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl up to one-third of the time.
- Walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or touch, and talk or hear one-third to two-thirds of the time.
- Move or operate machinery with feet up to two-thirds of the time.
- Lift up to 10 pounds, use force, or lift up to 25 pounds up to six feet high and carry 5–10 feet one-third of the time.
- Lift up to 50 pounds or exert force up to one-third of the time.
- Require close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Some warehouse or Power Industrial Truck (PIT) experience is a plus.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking basic English.
- Forklift certification or obtain upon hire.
- Ability to sit, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; taste or smell; and use feet to operate machinery up to one-third of the time.
- Ability to stand, walk, speak, and hear two-thirds or more of the time.
- Capability to lift up to 25 pounds or exert force up to one-third of the time.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds or exert force up to one-third of the time or less, including push/pull motion.
- Capability to lift up to 10 pounds or exert force two-thirds or more of the time.
- May lift 50 pounds for up to 15 feet.
- Require clear close vision, clear distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and 3‑D vision for judging distances and spatial relationships.
- Forklift 2/3 and more of the time.
- Computer, scale, and drum handlers up to 1/3 of the time.
- Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals up to one-third of the time.
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles one-third to two-thirds of the time.
- Safety (steel‑toe) shoes required.
- Safety glasses required.
- Miscellaneous PPE as required.
- Gloves and respiratory equipment required for samplers.
