Title: Burn Table Programmer

Status: Exempt

Reports To: Director of Engineering

Location: Manitowoc, WI

Summary

Perform duties related to steel identification, inventory management, programming, and prioritization of CNC Plasma and Oxy‑Fuel cutting tables.

Responsibilities
  • Program CNC nests for Plasma and Oxy‑Fuel cutting tables, making appropriate adjustments to processes as needed to produce desired quality.
  • Identify raw material size and grade requirements to support work orders.
  • Support management and optimization of flat steel plate inventory.
  • Support prioritization of burn table jobs as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Read blueprints and engineering drawings to determine tolerances and identify required trim stock.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Use and understand measuring instruments such as tape measure, protractor, and micrometer.
  • Robust analytical skills with exceptional reasoning capabilities.
  • Communicate successfully across functions and at varying levels.
  • Work on multiple projects at a time, switching gears effectively.
  • Understand the critical nature of maintaining deadlines.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in metal fabrication, CNC machining operation, or industrial manufacturing preferred.
  • Apprenticeship or vocational training in machining, welding, or fabrication desired.
  • Ability to efficiently and independently use the plasma and Oxy‑Fuel burn tables, beveling equipment, and tools such as Oxy Fuel hand torch, hand grinder, hand scraper, sledge hammer, pneumatic hammer, tape measure, and caliper.
  • Able to locate and reference all work instructions pertaining to current job or project.
  • Understanding of department KPIs, metrics and measurables.
  • Sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Forklift and crane certified.
