Shipping Lead - 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

• Assign, monitor, delegate assignments and react to activities throughout the value stream supporting job rotations
• Ensure that Team Improvement boards, Day by Hour boards, etc. are completely filled out on an hourly/daily basis
• Ensure productivity by fielding questions, ensuring operators are on track and understand work assignments
• Serve as liaison between the VS Team Leader and Leadership regarding work assignments and projects
• Regularly lead Kaizen or other problem‑solving events
• Participate actively in the layered audit process conducting daily audits
• Ensure all team members are performing and documenting quality checks based on department procedures
• Delegate work assignments, maintain kiosk boards, and report out on activities within the value stream
• Fill in for operators during meetings or cover absences as needed
• Cross‑train within multiple areas to create flexibility and understanding
• Accountable for VS metrics such as Safety, Quality, LISC, Scrap, and Units per Labor Hour
• Responsible for training, including working with team members to develop and maintain their Skills Matrix
• Facilitate weekly team meetings and lead Safety Toolbox talks
• Other duties may be assigned at a later time
• Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures to eliminate risk to health and the environment; notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices and report all safety and/or environmental incidents immediately
• Participate in peer‑based teams (e.g., Natural High Performance Teams) and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5‑S

• High School diploma or GED, additional education preferred
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Able to speak and share information in a group setting
• Sound decision‑making skills
• Good math, reading and writing skills
• Ability to exercise continuous mental, visual and audio attention
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills (CAR/PAR/8D)
