CNC Programmer

Overview

The CNC Programmer will assist in the development of efficient, cost-effective, high-quality products, while developing and improving CAM programming systems. The programmer is responsible for setting up, editing, and maintaining all tooling speeds and feed records, and creating the prototype product from beginning to end.

• Set up and operate CNC machines.
• Develop efficient programs and machining processes in all types of materials and equipment.
• Reduce product and process costs.
• Maintain CAM system data and integrity.
• Make recommendations to design team for manufacturability of products.
• Implement consistent process control throughout programming method.
• Load and unload fixtures, devices, tools, and programs.
• Establish and follow standard work processes and record data.
• Optimize tooling and machine capabilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Associate's degree or certification in CNC programming, or equivalent combination of years of experience and education.
• 2 or more years of CNC programming and/or CAM systems development for implementation of EIA and macro programs.
• 5 years of hands‑on CNC machining experience, with strong tooling knowledge and the ability to set up, edit, troubleshoot, and operate multiple CNC control systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Strong computer skills; proficient with MS Office products.
• Strong communication skills; verbal, written, and interpersonal.

• Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs of force frequently and up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
• Lift objects from floor to above shoulder level.
• Move objects/parts/tools and equipment between locations and levels.
• Strong hand–eye coordination.
• Stand or sit up to 4 hours at a time.
• Reach, extend, and pull the hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction while working with tools.
• Seize, hold, grasp, turn, pull, or otherwise work with hands and arms.
• Manual dexterity picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers.
• Possess the ability to determine objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture via tactile perception.
