The CNC Set Up Technician will be responsible for oversight and development of the prototype process. The CNC Set‑Up Technician will perform various machine functions to complete the machining process.
- Setup fixtures and add new tooling to machines where needed.
- Prove-out programs and tooling on Prototypes, ECR’s and Process changes.
- Perform FARs for all Prove-outs.
- Update process and Master Process sheets accordingly.
- Collaborate with programmers on edit changes made to the programs and processes to ensure Cribmaster cycles and tool files are accurate and correct.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve programming and in‑process issues.
- Perform process rework and repairs to products as needed.
- Reviewing blueprints and schematics for prototypes and processes.
- Sets up machines and oversight of machines while operating.
- Prepares Fixtures and tools needed for machine operations;
Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments on machine. - Verifies that setup meets acceptable quality standards or other specifications.
- Loads or develops appropriate program in machine controller;
Completes set‑up sheets for new parts. - Starts machine and monitors machine operation;
Periodically gauges or measures parts for conformance to specifications. - Monitors operation of machine and verifies conformance of parts to specifications.
- Enters commands or manually adjusts machine controls to correct out‑of‑tolerance sequences.
- Instructs machine operator on production parameters required for the part being produced.
- Removes, replaces and labels containers of finished parts when specified number have been produced.
- Performs routine machine maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree or Certification in CNC programming preferred or equivalent combination of years of experience and education.
- 2 or more years developing cam systems for implementation of EIA and macro programs.
- 2-5 years of hands‑on experience with machining, tooling capability, able to set up, edit, trouble shoot, and operate multiple CNC controls.
- Ability to review and update blueprints and/or schematics.
