Jail Nurse - Make a Meaningful Impact in Your Community
The Manitowoc County Sheriffs Department is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Jail Nurse to provide essential healthcare services within the Manitowoc County Jail. This is a unique opportunity to use your clinical skills in a dynamic environment where your work directly supports the health, safety, and well‑being of both inmates and staff.
What You’ll Do:- Assess inmate health needs and deliver individualized care and case management
- Provide primary nursing care and oversee medication administration
- Review intake health screenings and communicate critical medical concerns to jail administration
- Collaborate with dietary staff to address specialized nutritional needs
- Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation
- Train corrections staff on first aid, medication procedures, and communicable disease prevention
As a Jail Nurse, you play a vital role in ensuring safe, ethical, and effective healthcare in a correctional setting. Your expertise helps prevent medical emergencies, supports rehabilitation, and contributes to a safer facility overall.

Requirements:Must be licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Wisconsin, and whatever combination of additional education and work experience provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
