Unit Manager (RN/LPN) Job Summary
Northridge Health and Rehab is seeking a Unit Manager (RN or LPN) with strong clinical leadership skills and a passion for quality resident care. This is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role in a supportive, team-focused skilled nursing environment.
The Unit Manager oversees daily nursing operations on the unit, providing leadership, supervision, and clinical guidance to nursing staff. This role works closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and positive resident and family experiences.
This position also includes a strong wound care focus, supporting residents with complex wound care needs and ensuring best-practice treatment plans.
Responsibilities- Supervise daily nursing care on assigned unit
- Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs)
- Conduct clinical rounds and monitor resident care plans
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives
- Assist with care planning and interdisciplinary communication
- Provide leadership coverage in absence of Director of Nursing
- Assess and manage wounds including pressure injuries and surgical wounds
- Develop and implement evidence-based wound care plans
- Monitor healing progress and update documentation accurately
- Educate residents, families, and staff on wound prevention and care
- Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams
- Conduct infection surveillance and staff training
- Investigate exposure incidents and implement follow-up actions
- Ensure compliance with all infection prevention protocols
- Lead policy updates and coordinate with local health authorities as needed
- Educate residents, families, and staff on prevention and care
- Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams
- Active RN or LPN license in good standing
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Wound care experience strongly preferred
- Infection Prevention experience strongly preferred
- Infection Prevention certification or willing to obtain
- Leadership or supervisory experience a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and clinical assessment skills
