Join the Manitowoc County Child Support Department and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families throughout our community. As a Case Manager, you'll play a vital role in helping ensure children receive the financial and medical support they deserve while working in a collaborative, service-oriented environment.
Under the general supervision of the Child Support Director, you will manage a caseload involving the establishment, enforcement, and collection of child support and medical support obligations. This position offers a balance of investigative work, case management, legal document preparation, and direct interaction with families and community partners.
In this role, you will:- Interview and work with parents to assess their ability to provide child support and medical insurance coverage for intrastate cases.
- Locate absent parents to establish paternity, establish support orders, enforce existing orders, and determine birth expense reimbursement and ability to pay.
- Evaluate cases to determine whether new support orders should be established or existing orders should be modified.
- Prepare legal documents, including petitions, motions, stipulations, judgments, and orders related to child support and medical support.
- Maintain accurate case files, records, and reports in compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and administrative procedures.
- Review existing child support orders to ensure they remain appropriate and take action to modify inadequate orders through stipulation or court proceedings when necessary.
- Work closely with attorneys, courts, employers, and other agencies to support effective case resolution and ensure compliance with child support laws.

RequirementsA high school diploma and whatever combination of additional education and work experience provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
