School Driver (Non-CDL)
Roncalli Catholic Schools is seeking a dependable and safety-minded individual to serve as a part-time School Driver (non-CDL) during the school year. This position requires a valid Wisconsin driver's license; a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is not required. School Drivers play an important role in ensuring students arrive safely to and from school, athletic events, field trips, and other school-sponsored activities.
School Drivers are responsible for operating and inspecting assigned vehicles, maintaining a safe and positive environment for students, following established routes and schedules, and responding appropriately to changing traffic, weather, and emergency situations. This part-time position offers morning and afternoon hours throughout the school year and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while supporting the mission of Roncalli Catholic Schools.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Safely transport students and staff to and from school and school-sponsored activities
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns as needed
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment during transport
- Follow assigned routes, schedules, and established transportation procedures
- Respond appropriately to changing road, weather, and emergency conditions
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, school personnel, students, and families
- Complete required documentation and reporting related to transportation activities
Compensation:
This is an hourly, part-time position. Compensation is based on hours worked and is reviewed in accordance with school policies and budget considerations.
Training:
School Drivers receive training and orientation related to vehicle operation, student transportation procedures, safety expectations, and applicable state and local requirements. Training may include both classroom and hands-on instruction to ensure drivers are prepared to safely and confidently fulfill their responsibilities.
