Job Requirements

Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy. Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock. Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials. Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.

Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.

• Pull shop orders off containers of plated material.
• Verify piece count and ship to address.
• Package containers following wrap and pack orders.
• Receive incoming shipments, verifying piece counts and container counts.
• Ask questions when unsure of task.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Must have good phone skills.
• Acquire a forklift license.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs.
• General knowledge of warehouse procedures.
• Be able to read and write.

• Obtain plated material from warehouse.
• Verify identity information and quantity.
• Follow "wrap and pack" orders.
• Write the company invoice on the container.
• Compare identifying information and quantities on the packing slip against the purchase order.
• Enter the purchase order by computer, which generates a packing list.
• Verify physical counts on incoming shipments.
• Assist in warehouse organization.
• Package orders for out-of-town shipments.
• Be courteous and polite on phone to our drivers, commercial drivers and our customers.

Tolerance for bending, standing, and walking for long periods. 20-20 vision with or without prescribed eyeglasses, speaking ability, and hearing accuracy. Manual dexterity. Must be able to move or carry up to 50 lbs. frequently. Able to tolerate working on the shop floor all day.
