Staff/Cost Accountant
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Staff/Cost Accountant to manage financial reporting, inventory control, and job costing within a Mankato manufacturing environment. This role ensures the accuracy of financial statements, optimizes ERP system integrations, and provides actionable variance analysis to leadership.
Salary$80,000 - $90,000
Responsibilities- Prepare consolidated monthly and annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Manage inventory control, labor reporting, and development/application of overhead rates.
- Provide variance analysis and strengthen internal controls, policies, and job costing procedures.
- Assist with accounts payable, cash forecasting, and treasury functions.
- Coordinate annual audits and tax filings with external advisors.
- Maintain and integrate accounting/ERP data across platforms (MAX, Great Plains, Fishbowl, Quick Books).
- Collaborate with developers and external departments to streamline transaction recording and system integrations.
- Strong analytical acumen; ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.
- Experience with MAX, Great Plains, or Fishbowl ERP.
- Strong self‑management, multitasking, prioritization, and confidentiality.
- Problem‑solving capabilities with a track record of process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field.
- 4+ years accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and working knowledge of ERP systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
