Payroll - Senior Associate

As Abdo's HR & Payroll solutions team continues to grow, we are looking to add a Senior Associate to the team to support our full-service payroll clients. We are a client facing team at the firm providing HR and Payroll services to public and private sector clients. It's fun, fast-paced, and full of variety. We want someone who enjoys following an established process, has comfort working with a variety of technology to process payroll, thrives in the details, and can manage multiple client deadlines at all times.

• Enter and manage client payroll data accurately and on time, including: client payroll processing and employee data, client setup data, client wage and tax data, or other related information
• Reconcile and preview payrolls prior to submission, reconcile new client year-to-day wage and tax totals, and validate confirmed reports
• Assemble payroll reports and process post-payroll reporting functions including: 401k, HSA, and PERA contributions or other client related reporting
• Provide quality, proactive, and ongoing client and employee service to ensure satisfaction and retention, while identifying opportunities for additional services
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of integrated software platforms and stay informed on changing regulation related to payroll systems set up, company and employee updates, new features/configuration options, and payroll processing functionality
• Communicate with software providers, taxing authorities, and jurisdictions to ensure timely and accurate filings and full regulatory compliance
• Configure payroll systems based on client requirements, including company setup, locations, departments, cost centers, pay groups & frequencies, earnings & deductions, tax profiles, and employee data
• Migrate and validate client data from legacy systems or spreadsheets into new platforms
• Assist with and/or complete multi-state payroll tax registrations for clients as needed and ensure proper set up for the company and employee in the payroll system
• Work within multiple payroll software solutions (e.g. ADP, UKG, Paycom, Paylocity, etc.)
• Maintain a high level of system knowledge, including updates, new features, and configurations
• Advise and assist payroll team with workload balancing, scheduling, and deadline management through planning and input

• Associate’s degree in accounting, business, or related field and/or related work experience
• 5+ years' payroll and related software experience and/or training
• Strong written and verbal communication, with strong attention to detail
• Strong problem solving and time management, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• High level of organization, focus, and attention to detail
• Comfortable with navigating a variety of technology resources to process payroll and manage workload
• Experience handling sensitive, confidential information
