The Senior Cogito BI Developer provides advanced analytic support to functional clinical and business areas to support operational reporting needs and enable actionable insights and strategies. This role drives the delivery of data solutions using Epic’s Cogito suite of tools (Slicer Dicer, Radar, Reporting Workbench) and associated databases (Caboodle, Clarity) to deliver value across Children Minnesota’s six domains of quality care:
Effective, Timely, Efficient, Safe, Equitable, and Patient‑Centered. The developer designs, builds, and delivers comprehensive data solutions that guide decision‑making, population health management, cost containment, and quality improvement strategies. Responsibilities include supporting the design, creation, and automation of reports, building executive‑level dashboards, and presenting information to help leaders and stakeholders understand operational and clinical data impacts.
Remote/Hybrid – Minnesota/Wisconsin residents only. On‑site presence is required during implementation, testing and go‑live phases with an expected one week per month on‑site, potentially increasing for milestones and specific events.
Licensing & CertificationLicense/Certification/Registration required? Yes.
- Epic Cogito certification required; additional certification in Clarity, Caboodle, Clinical Data Model or Access Data Model strongly preferred and must be maintained.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Management, Computer Science, Statistics, Management Information Systems or related field required or equivalent experience.
Experience- Minimum 5 years as a Cogito BI Developer or similar role.
- Experience in healthcare business intelligence and analytics preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to lead and influence stakeholders to drive better outcomes using data.
- Extensive knowledge of business and healthcare processes and the structure and content of the data they generate.
- Ability to influence teams and have crucial conversations with tact.
- Ability to translate business/clinical needs into detailed requirements and communicate them to technical and non‑technical teammates.
- Extensive experience developing using the Cogito suite of BI tools (Slicer Dicer, Radar, Reporting Workbench, Executive Web Dashboards) and good judgment on tool applicability.
- Passionate about data and driven by curiosity through creative problem‑solving.

Compensation & BenefitsThe posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full‑time employment (40 standard hours per week). Part‑time salaries are prorated. Compensation is determined by market indicators, skills, education, training, credentials and experience, internal equity and organizational needs. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement and other fringe benefits.
Positions that require night, weekend or on‑call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay. All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation and compliance with U.S. Government Form I‑9, Employment Eligibility Verification.
