Adventures After School Care Assistant

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After School Care Assistant to join our team at Century Lower Elementary School. This part-time position involves providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children in our after-school program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children, fostering their development, and ensuring they have a positive and enjoyable experience during their time in after-school care.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children during after-school activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, and homework assistance.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, including setting up and cleaning up after activities.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to address any concerns or needs.
- Assist in managing behavior and promoting positive social interactions among children.
- Monitor and document attendance and any incidents that may occur during the program.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for all children.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent(not necessary if you are a student); additional education in child development or related fields is a plus.
- Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with children and parents.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude are essential.
- Must pass a background check and meet any other state or local licensing requirements.
- Availability to work after school hours, typically from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM on school days.
