The Role The position of Construction Manager is responsible for providing planning and technical support to the single-family, multifamily, and commercial development and rehabilitation activities of the Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership. The position is primarily responsible for the development, implementation, and the daily management of all construction activities administered by the Partnership. This includes technical assistance to communities to evaluate, address, and develop a working plan to meet housing and other community needs.
Other efforts include working with various programs, grants, or special projects related to housing development and/or rehabilitation programs administered by the Partnership. Reporting Relationships The Construction Manager reports to the Senior Project Manager and the Director of Construction Services. Work Environment The SWMHP is a mission orientated organization that has continued to grow over the last thirty- four (34) years.
The SWMHP offers and provides a flexible work schedule and environment placing an emphasis on achieving a manageable work/life balance. The organization operates in a hybrid work environment with some staff in the office 1 – 2 days per week, others in the office daily and some working fully remote. Business hours are Monday – Friday on varied schedules based upon staff preference and the individual demands of each position.
The Ideal Candidate The SWMHP seeks an individual who is mission orientated and brings a strategic construction management perspective, balancing project quality, schedule, budget and long-term organizational capacity. The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and qualities:
• An associate degree or higher from an accredited post-secondary institution preferably in the field of Construction Management, or another related degree.
• At least seven years of related construction experience and possess project estimating skills and a thorough knowledge of construction practices.…
