We are looking for a Facilitator to join our growing team at Project Success. Project Success is a youth development nonprofit organization that helps students connect to their purpose. Our team of Facilitators work directly with 6th-10th grade students in Mankato Area Public Schools (MAPS), leading workshops throughout the school year that help students prepare and plan for their futures. Utilizing our proven curriculum, facilitators build long-term relationships with students and help them develop skills that will assist them in school and beyond. Facilitators also play an active role in supporting out-of-class programming including events, field trips, and other experiences that strengthen connections with students and the school community.
This role reports to the Mankato Site Director and is part of the Mankato Programs team at Project Success.
This role will require strong communication skills, excitement to engage with students, families and teachers, and the ability to use our curriculum to deliver engaging lessons that inspire young people. Our ideal candidate has strong experience working with young people, is detail-oriented and organized, and is excited to work collaboratively to innovate and meet student, teacher, and school needs. Facilitators undergo continuous training on culturally responsive and inclusive teaching methods, and the ideal candidate for this role must be willing to continuously learn and incorporate those learnings.
COREJOB RESPONSIBILITIES Workshops
- Facilitate engaging workshops in the classrooms at MAPS partner schools throughout the school year
- Prepare and adapt lesson plans using Project Success curriculum to meet the needs of each school community and student population
- Support all students from a variety of backgrounds in discovering who they are, what they want, and how to make informed decisions for their future
- Utilize a variety of educational pedagogy as tools to enhance student learning
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with classroom teachers and school staff to coordinate schedules and create a positive presence in the schools
- Ensure Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility values are reflected in workshop content and facilitation
- Support the Facilitator team by stepping in to assist or sub in classrooms as needed
- Facilitate curriculum and activities during outside-of-class programming
- Support student recruitment efforts, including tabling at MAPS middle and high schools
- Staff events and field trips, actively engaging with students and families to create a welcoming environment
- Identify opportunities to strengthen programming and deepen student engagement within MAPS
- Collaborate with team members to ensure programming runs efficiently
Assist with event preparation and day-of coordination, as needed
- Build and maintain strong relationships with students, teachers, and program partners
- Continuously learn and apply culturally responsive teaching practices
- Stay informed on trends and issues impacting young people in the community and incorporate that information into the work
