Elementary Stem Teacher - Long-term Substitute

Mankato Area Public Schools is seeking a long-term substitute STEM teacher beginning August 31 and ending between October 9 and Nov 20, 2026. Design and implement high-quality STEM lessons for K5 students in a rotating specialist model. Provide instruction in areas including, but not limited to: coding, robotics, engineering, design processes, problem- and project-based learning. Utilize and deliver Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Launch curriculum with fidelity;

become PLTW certified (training provided if needed). Foster student engagement through creative and innovative teaching practices. Promote 21st-century skills including critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. Monitor and report student progress each semester. Collaborate with school leaders, instructional technology teams, and fellow specialists to ensure program quality and alignment Support and maintain STEM classroom materials and equipment.

Qualifications required:
Valid Minnesota teaching license in Elementary Education (K6) Experience working with elementary-aged students in an instructional setting. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Knowledge of or experience with integrating technology in the classroom.
