Elementary School Counselor - Long-term Substitute

There is a position available for a long-term substitute school counselor at Eagle Lake Elementary and Jefferson Elementary Schools beginning August 31 and ending October 30, 2026. Summary of duties:
Mankato Area Public Schools currently has an opening for a licensed school counselor long-term substitute. School counselors serve a vital role in supporting the whole child. We are seeking candidates that support inclusive, equitable, and safe learning environments. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Listening to students' concerns about academic, emotional, or social concerns
• Leading monthly SEL classroom lessons
• Helping students process problems and plan goals and actions related to student support
• Mediating conflict between students and teachers
• Improving parent/teacher relationships
• Facilitating Rising Scholar enrichment groups for students
• Referring students to psychologists and other mental health resources
• Working on academic boards to improve learning conditions
• Collaborating with school social workers and school psychologists in support of student needs (SEL, Attendance, Resources, Assessments, etc.)
• Coordinating and supporting 504 development and implementation

Qualifications required: MN licensure in School Counseling. Salary range: $265 - $485 per day (based on the MTA salary schedule). Eligible employee benefits include earned sick & safe time. Final date to receive applications:
