Special Education Paraeducators (ECSE)
The Mankato School District has five positions available for Early Learning Special Education Paraeducators at MAPS Center for Learning. Early Learning Program hours: 7:45 a.m - 2:45 p.m. Both full-time and part-time positions are available beginning September 2026. Flexible scheduling options are available.
Summary of duties:
- Assist special and general teachers in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of special education students in an assigned educational program.
- Assist children with meeting the goals and objectives of their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Attend to the physical and health needs of students.
- Monitor and report student progress regarding educational performance.
- Perform a variety of clerical and supportive duties related to classroom activities and classroom management.
Requirements:
- Candidates must meet one of the following criteria to qualify for this position:
- Highly Qualified: 60-semester credits (or two years full-time at an institute of higher education) or an Associate's degree (AA, AS, AAS) or must pass the Para educator assessment before the first day of employment.
- Pre-Employment Requirements:
All final candidates must successfully complete the following prior to employment: - Physical Screening:
Must pass a job-related physical screening. - Background Check:
Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
Pay:
Starting at $18.50 - up to $19.72 per hour (Based on experience in a public school setting). Eligible Employee Benefits include:
