Join our Engineering Department to build skills in design, construction inspection, and surveying while receiving mentorship, hands‑on experience, and paid training. This apprenticeship is designed to prepare you for Minnesota LTAP certification and potential advancement to Civil Engineering Technician I.
What You’ll Do- Assist with plan design, field inspections, and survey work
- Build professional relationships across City teams
- Attend City‑paid training courses to grow technical skills
High School Diploma/GED, valid driver’s license, and basic Microsoft skills. Related coursework, CAD experience, STEM classes, or construction/design background are a plus but not required.
Schedule:
Full‑time, Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, with seasonal overtime. Apprenticeship length: 1–2 years depending on learning progress. Learn more about the certification pathway at Minnesota LTAP’s Roads Scholar program.
