Available Manufacturing Engineer Description

Our client, an established precision machining company in southern Minnesota, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing team. This opportunity is ideal for either an early-career engineer looking to build a strong foundation or a hands-on professional with machining experience who’s ready to take the next step into an engineering-focused role. In this position, you’ll play a key role in developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

You’ll gain exposure to the full production lifecycle—from interpreting customer drawings and supporting quoting efforts to launching new jobs and optimizing workflows on the shop floor.

This is a highly collaborative and partially client-facing role, offering the chance to work closely with engineering, quality, operations, and customers to ensure projects are executed efficiently and meet technical and delivery expectations. With strong mentorship, exposure to modern manufacturing practices, and a clear path for growth, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills, make an immediate impact, and grow into a leadership role over time
.

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes
  • Analyze production workflows, equipment, and facility layout to drive operational improvements
  • Interpret customer drawings, CAD files, and GD&T specifications to support accurate production

  • Partner with Quality to resolve non-conformance issues and ensure compliance with ISO 9001
  • Support estimating and quoting by evaluating labor, materials, tooling, and production timelines
  • Act as a technical liaison for customers—clarifying requirements, providing job status updates, and aligning specifications, tolerances, and delivery expectations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, sales, and customers to solve technical challenges and drive continuous improvement
Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or similar) required OR 3+ years of precision machining experience required
  • Proficient in CAD (AutoCAD, Solid Works) required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external customers required
