Job Summary
Position objective:
Responsible for the creation, release, organization, and storage of ECNs and/or ECOs, bill of materials, drawings, specifications, and procedures for generator and electronic control cabinet designs. Translate electrical and mechanical design specifications into production bill of materials.
Work Shift:
1st Shift (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm).
Work Location:
On‑site, Mankato, MN. Starting Salary: $22.93–$32.12 per hour, paid Bi‑weekly.
- Work with Engineering drawings and assist Engineers, Designers and CAD Operators in the preparation of Engineering drawings.
- Support New Product Development activities.
- Creation and development of new item numbers, bills of material structure, and documentation to support manufacturing.
- Complete documentation and final review for ECNs and/or ECOs and deviations.
- Support drawing revisions using latest software, with markups supplied.
- Maintain the MRP database and support manufacturing discrete job changes.
- Provide manufacturing engineering support as needed for all EPGA factories.
- Coordinate and facilitate information exchange with other LS facilities/teams.
- Review customer specifications and commercial/military standards to understand how they affect the requirements for generator and electronic control cabinet designs.
- Review industry standards for requirements and compliance (UL, NEMA, NEC, IC, etc.).
- Create customer drawings and top‑level assembly drawings for new products.
- Participate with manufacturing and quality in response to requests for design improvements or drawing updates.
- Respond to customer requests for modifications to drawings and solid models.
- Programming of PLCs, PACs, and HMI’s.
- Troubleshooting and testing of electronics and electrical control systems.
- Manage customer test procedure creation and delivery when required.
- Review and approve test data and documentation from production facility.
- Create and submit customer specific test reports and other deliverables with input from electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Support manufacturing standard labor time process allocations (Routings).
- Review BOMs and compare them to customer drawings for processing of PPAPs.
- Manage the new orders in engineering’s worklist and assist in reporting for the department.
- 3–7 years of related work experience.
- Proficiency with Oracle (ERP), Aras (PLM), AutoCAD, Creo, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office.
- Good written and oral communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of product construction and manufacturing processes.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen for positions at the North Mankato facility.
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
