* Position Summary:

** The Quality Engineer – New Product Introduction will ensure the highest standards of quality are integrated into the design and development of new genset products at Rolls-Royce, Mankato. This role is pivotal in enhancing product reliability, supporting innovation, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations to maintain customer satisfaction and brand reputation.

* Key Accountabilities:

*** NPI Quality Planning:
Develop and implement quality plans specifically tailored for new product introductions, ensuring that quality is embedded from the initial design phase through to production.
* Design for Quality:
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to incorporate quality considerations into product designs, using tools such as Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Oversee & facilitate the PFMEA process.
* Prototype Testing and Validation:
Oversee the testing and validation of prototypes to ensure they statistically & confidently meet quality standards and performance specifications before full-scale production.
* Launch Readiness Assessment:
Conduct quality assessments to ensure that all quality criteria are met before product launch, minimizing the risk of defects and ensuring a smooth market entry. Timely escalation of quality concerns to Sr. management.
* Post-Launch Quality Monitoring:
Monitor product quality post-launch to identify any emerging issues and implement corrective actions to maintain product quality and customer satisfaction.
* Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
* Perform special projects as required
** Basic Requirements:
*** Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
* Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing engineering plus 3 years quality engineering experience with large industrial equipment or 7 years quality engineering with large industrial equipment.
* Ability to work flexible hours or shifts

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Strong knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the production of large industrial equipment.
* Strong knowledge of quality control, raw materials, manufacturing processes, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of large industrial equipment.
* Knowledge of NFPA 70, NEC, UL 2200 and CSA.
* Familiar with plant operations and equipment
* Knowledge of MTU components and products
* Knowledge of genset performance requirements
* Knowledge of gauge and test equipment
