Job DescriptionLocation:
Mankato, MN Security Clearance: N/A What You'll Do You'll own the full product development lifecycle — from initial concept through production release — for new electronic and electrical products, while also driving improvements to existing ones. This is a hands-on engineering role with real ownership and variety. Core responsibilities include:
- Leading innovative electronic/electrical design from concept to production, including schematic creation, prototyping, and design iteration
- Building and managing project timelines, budgets, and quality targets independently
- Designing, fabricating, and evaluating rapid and conventional prototypes for performance and reliability
- Writing product specifications, test plans, and verification documentation
- Conducting feasibility studies, competitive testing, and design qualifications
- Troubleshooting complex electrical/electronic issues during development and post-production
- Generating Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintaining complete engineering documentation
- Collaborating cross-functionally with manufacturing, operations, and outside suppliers on tooling, assembly, and capacity planning
What You Bring
Education:
BSEE, BSET, or equivalent
Experience:
5+ years in electrical design engineering, ideally in consumer products Strong command of schematic reading and design tools (simulation, analysis, CAD) Hands-on experience taking products from napkin sketch to manufacturable design Solid grasp of financial modeling and NPD processes A creative problem-solver with sharp analytical instincts and clear communication skills
