To Stand Out Sometimes the Biggest Barrier to Recovery Is Something No One Notices Until They Get Home.

The bathroom is too tight for the walker.

The patient can't reach the clothes in their closet.

Their favorite chair is suddenly too difficult to get out of.

The kitchen setup that worked for 20 years doesn't work after a stroke.

The spouse helping with transfers isn't sure they're doing it safely.

The patient technically knows how to complete the task—but their actual home makes it harder.

This is where Occupational Therapy gets interesting.

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with Home Health Care, Inc. , you'll work with patients inside the environment where their everyday challenges actually exist.

You'll see the problem.

Work from the Occupational Therapist's plan of care.

And help the patient figure out how to overcome it.

If You're a Problem-Solver, Home Health Was Made for You.

Great COTAs don't just run through exercises.

You observe.

Adapt.

Teach.

Encourage.

Problem-solve.

And find practical ways to help patients accomplish things they may have taken for granted before an illness, injury, hospitalization, or surgery.

Sometimes that means improving strength or coordination.

Sometimes it's teaching a different way to complete a task.

Sometimes it's introducing adaptive equipment.

And sometimes it's noticing one small obstacle in the patient's environment that's making everything harder.

Every home is different. Every patient is different. Every visit asks you to think.

Your Treatment Has an Immediate Test:
Does It Work in Real Life?

You'll work one-on-one with patients on the activities they actually need to perform between visits.

What You'll Do

Working under the direction of the supervising Occupational Therapist, you'll:

  • Provide one-on-one Occupational Therapy treatments in patients' homes
  • Carry out individualized treatment plans established by the OT
  • Address activities of daily living and functional routines
  • Provide therapeutic activities and exercises
  • Work on upper-extremity function, coordination, and functional mobility
  • Teach adaptive techniques and compensatory strategies
  • Educate patients and caregivers on safety
  • Reinforce appropriate use of adaptive equipment
  • Monitor patient response and progress
  • Identify changes and communicate them to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Collaborate with PT, nursing, SLP, physicians, and other interdisciplinary clinicians
  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation
You're Not Just Treating a Diagnosis. You're Troubleshooting a Life.

Two patients can have the same diagnosis and need completely different treatment.

Why?

Because their homes are different.

Their routines are different.

Their support systems are different.

Their goals are different.

And the things they need to accomplish every day are different.

Home health gives you the opportunity to see all of that.

Then use your COTA skills to do something about it.

Build a Career That Rewards What You Put Into It

This position offers $82,000–$110,000 in annualized earning potential through a paid-per-visit compensation model.

For an organized, motivated COTA who can effectively manage a field-based schedule, that creates an opportunity for strong earning potential while maintaining the independence that makes home health different.

You’ll also receive mileage reimbursement between patient visits.
