Description

The Life Enrichment Specialist is responsible for delivering Life Enrichment programming designed to meet and honor the physical, social, spiritual, sensory and psychological needs of all residents based on an assessment of their individual needs and interests. This position is responsible for advocating and promoting resident participation and choice.

Pay:
  • The targeted pay range for this job is $19.00 to $23.00 per hour.
  • Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Essential

Job Responsibilities:
  • Meets with all residents upon admission and on an ongoing basis as assigned, to assess their life enrichment needs and interests.
  • Conducts individual and group activities to meet the assessed needs of assigned residents, notifies, encourages and assures resident participation in appropriate recreational activities according to their individual needs and plan of care, and documents resident participation in recreational and activity programming.
  • Empowers residents to develop interpersonal relationships, socialize effectively and develop confidence to participate in individual and group activity programming.
  • Ensures residents arrive at scheduled activities, outings and appointments in a timely manner. Transporting residents as needed.
  • Maintains supplies in an orderly manner, notifies supervisor of supply needs in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates activity programming, being sensitive of the needs and operations of other departments. Notifies other departments in advance of events that will require their assistance and participation.
  • Maintains and posts daily and monthly calendars of events, outings and other recreational opportunities for residents.
  • Assists and supports all workers and positions in the building and identifies what needs to be done and assists as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Driving Requirements:

    Local Travel and Driver's License Required

    Minimum Required Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or GED
    • 1 year related experience
    • Knowledge and understanding of the field of geriatrics and the interpersonal, spiritual and psycho-social needs of older adults.
    • Valid Drivers License, proof of insurance and satisfactory motor vehicle record
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to:
      Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, Resident's Bill of Rights, OSHA, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, Right to know, HUD Policy and Procedures, ADA, Fair Housing laws and regulations and SDS
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Previous experience working with seniors
    • ADC, ACC or CTRS
