Atwood Companies is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support our growing organization across property management, real estate, and mortgage operations. We’re looking for someone who enjoys helping people, solving problems, creating consistency, and keeping the day‑to‑day functions of Human Resources running smoothly. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys balancing people and process, and wants to make a meaningful impact on the employee experience.
This is an in‑office position based in our Mankato, Minnesota office.
What You’ll Do- Coordinating recruiting, onboarding, and new hire orientation
- Administering payroll, benefits, leave administration, and HRIS processes
- Supporting employee relations, policy interpretation, and performance management
- Maintaining HR records and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies
- Assisting with training coordination, employee communications, and compliance reporting
- Supporting employee recognition, engagement, wellness, and company events
- Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, and systems
- Staying current on employment laws and HR best practices while helping leadership navigate regulatory changes
- Enjoys helping people while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
- Is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and dependable
- Balances empathy with sound judgment and consistency
- Communicates confidently with employees and leaders
- Thrives in a fast‑paced environment with multiple priorities
- Enjoys improving processes and finding better ways to do things
- Takes ownership of their work and follows through on commitments
- Values continuous learning and staying current within the HR profession
- $55,000‑$65,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience

Qualifications Required- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two or more years of Human Resources experience
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and Minnesota employment laws
- Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR software platforms
- SHRM‑CP or PHR certification
- Experience supporting a multi‑location workforce
- Experience with ADP Total Source or similar HRIS/payroll systems
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- This is an in‑office position located in Mankato, Minnesota.
