Associate Freight Logistics Coordinator
The Freight Logistics Coordinator supports the scheduling, coordination, and documentation of inbound and outbound shipments. This role tracks shipment status, maintains vendor records, communicates with internal and external partners, and assists with process improvements and compliance. The position is essential for ensuring efficient logistics operations and timely delivery of goods.
What you will be doing
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating shipments, including preparing basic documentation for inbound and outbound goods.
- Track and update shipment status, notify relevant parties of delays, and help resolve routine transportation issues.
- Maintain vendor and carrier records, including updating contracts, rates, and auditing billing details for accuracy.
- Communicate with internal teams and external partners to provide shipment updates and support logistics meetings.
- Support continuous improvement by following standard processes and assisting with import/export compliance as needed.
- Ongoing analysis of industry and operational data providing continuous improvement opportunities.
Basic Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field + 2 years of experience in customer compliance and/or logistics.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Master's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
- JD/PhD in Business, Engineering, or related field.
- In lieu of degree, 4+ years of experience in customer compliance and/or logistics.
- In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Preferred Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of supply chain management, business operations, and resource planning, including strategic planning, customer service, production, and cross-functional coordination.
- Ability to handle third party vendor, including tender creation, negotiation and coordination.
- Experience preparing shipping and customs documentation for domestic and international freight.
- Familiarity with tracking and tracing shipments using logistics or transportation management software.
- Ability to resolve routine shipment discrepancies or delivery issues in coordination with carriers and internal teams.
