Shift: 1st shift

Days of Work: Monday – Friday

Work Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Work Location: On-site (North Mankato, MN)

Starting Salary: $100,300 to $150,500 Annually

Pay Frequency: Bi-Weekly

Position Objective

The Communications Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for building organizational culture, strengthening employee engagement, and deploying enterprise and regional strategies through clear, consistent, and credible communication. This role partners closely with senior leadership, Human Resources, and cross‑functional teams to ensure employees understand business priorities, leadership expectations, and how their work contributes to overall success. In addition to leading internal communications and supporting positive employee relations, the Communications Manager oversees external communications that reinforce brand reputation and align authentically with the organization’s values and strategic direction.

The role also provides leadership and development for Marketing Communications team members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Culture & Strategy Deployment
  • Translate enterprise and regional strategies into clear, actionable communications.
  • Reinforce organizational values, behaviors, and cultural norms.
  • Ensure employees understand how their work connects to business strategy and outcomes.
  • Support leadership narratives during periods of change and transformation.
  • Act as a strategic communications partner to executives and senior leaders, delivering counsel, messaging, and content for enterprise updates, change initiatives, and critical leadership communications.
Internal Communications & Employee Relations
  • Own internal communications strategy including channels, cadence, and governance.
  • Partner with HR on employee relations communications.
  • Support sensitive messaging with clarity and empathy.
  • Increase leadership visibility and trust.
Team Leadership & Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop communications team members.
  • Establish clear priorities, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
External Communications
  • Lead external messaging aligned to brand, culture, and business strategy.
  • Develop corporate stories, press releases, and thought leadership content.
Governance & Measurement
  • Establish communication standards.
  • Measure effectiveness and employee understanding.
Experience & Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate communications, marketing communications, or related discipline.
  • Experience leading or managing team members and influencing cross‑functional partners.
  • Exceptional executive‑level writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Skilled in developing visual concepts and collaborating on design assets.
  • Proven ability to navigate change communications and sensitive organizational topics.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
