6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Work Location:
On-site, Mankato, MN
Starting Salary: $24.58 to $28.57 per hour + commensurate with experience. 10% shift differential (over $3 per hour) and additional incentives may be awarded in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Must pass MIL‑STD Test.
Operator – arc and gas welding on a wide variety of metals and alloys. Perform welding on commercial and military fabrication, regulatory compliance, and critical safety and load requirements. Operate ring‑roller and associated equipment. Work from specifications, drawings, prints, and welding symbols. Determine proper machine settings, gas, or filler selections for each base metal and process application. Perform diversified fabrication work, plan and layout jobs, and execute work in accordance with Mil‑STD 248, ASME Section IX, or other code specified by customer contracts.
Perform duties as directed by supervisor, within the same salary grade or below.
• Vocational or high‑school graduate with coursework in mechanical drawing, shop mathematics, and shop practices; includes formal on‑the‑job training or equivalent program.
• Must be a sole U.S. citizen.
• Minimum of 6,000 hours of experience required to acquire sufficient background in millwrighting and fabrication trades.
• Must pass MIL‑STD Test and be certified to comply with Mil‑STD 248, ASME Section IX, or applicable customer contract code.
