Job Summary
Shift: 2nd shift (Monday - Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.)
Location:
On-site (Mankato, MN)
Starting Salary: $33.08 to $40.00 hourly + 10% shift differential. Additional technical differential attainable after meeting CBA criteria.
Pay Frequency:
Bi-Weekly.
- Carry through to completion, with minimum supervision, the machining and fitting of all kinds of metal parts, tools, and machines.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, written specifications, and schematics to properly layout and perform work.
- Set up and operate all available machines and machine tools and perform progressive machining operations on work involving very close tolerances or unusual requirements.
- Determine operation sequences.
- Use machinists’ hand tools skillfully and determine machinability of metals to select proper tooling (geometry) and application (fields, speeds).
- Operate CNC machines; working knowledge of programming fundamentals required.
- Ensure work produced consistently meets specification.
- Monitor coolant quality and change coolant as required.
- Perform daily/weekly TPM tasks with accuracy and consistency.
- Perform other duties as designated by supervisor in the same salary grade or below.
- Two (2) year vocational/accredited school graduate, or equivalent plus three (3) years of experience.
- Knowledge of machining practices and techniques, basic mechanical principles and shop mathematics, setups, tooling applications, operating methods, and machinability of materials.
- Must be a sole U.S. citizen.
