Machine Operator, CNC Machinist
Job Summary
Shift: 4th shift
Days of Work: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Work Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Work Location: On-site (Mankato, MN)
Starting Salary: $24.58 to $28.57 hourly + 10% shift differential (an additional $2.00 per hour technical differential attainable after meeting CBA criteria.)
Pay Frequency: Bi-Weekly
Carrying through to completion with minimum supervision, the machinist will perform machining and fitting of all kinds of metal parts, tools, and machines.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, written specifications, and schematics to properly layout and perform work. Set up and operate all available machines and machine tools and perform progressive machining operations on work involving very close tolerances or unusual requirements.
Determine operation sequences. Skillfully use machinists’ hand tools and determine machinability of metals to select proper tooling geometry and application. Require experience, trade skill and knowledge of machine shop practice. Operate CNC machines with working knowledge of programming fundamentals.
The work produced must consistently meet specification. Monitor coolant quality and change coolant as required. Perform daily/weekly TPM tasks accurately and consistently.
Perform other duties as designated by supervisor in the same salary grade or below.
Education and Experience RequirementsFull-time or part‑time student in pursuit of a two‑year vocational/accredited school certificate or degree. Upon completion of the certificate or degree plus 4,000 in‑house machining hours, the candidate will advance to Machinist
A. Require knowledge of machining practices and techniques, basic mechanical principles and shop mathematics, setups, tooling applications, operating methods, and machinability of materials. Must be a sole US citizen.
