Job Summary
Position:
Field Service Technician (North Mankato, MN)
Shift: 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Starting Salary: $22.93–$32.12/hr, paid bi‑weekly.
Perform installation, start‑up, service, and repair operations on Nidec’s motor products in accordance with company directives and customer requirements.
Responsibilities- Provide on‑site technical product support at customer facilities.
- Coordinate with company and customer engineering personnel on technical matters during service work.
- Position, erect, align, level, and securely anchor framework to foundation; handle sub‑assembly units and components.
- Perform fitting, aligning, timing, calibrating, and other mechanical assembly operations.
- Conduct preliminary or start‑up checks to ensure operating requirements and recheck operations.
- Investigate operating difficulties, diagnose problems, and determine causes of malfunctions.
- Make repairs or adjustments to remedy deviations if fault lies with product.
- Maintain professional relationships with customer personnel and represent company image.
- Read and work from complex engineering drawings, specifications, written instructions, and handbooks.
- Use precision measuring instruments, e.g., micrometers, calipers, tachometers, levels, and electrical meters.
- Document necessary records to gain/maintain access to customer facilities and meet customer requirements.
- Provide technical support to internal organization while representing Field Service.
- Produce timely and detailed service reports as required.
- Travel approximately 60% of the time, including global travel without restrictions.
• 2–6years related experience and/or training
• Proficiency in MS‑Office and Oracle
• US citizenship required (sole US citizen)
• Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred; GED or high school diploma acceptable
