CNC Machinist

This role focuses on operating HAAS CNC centers and bar feed lathes to manufacture a variety of metal brackets, handles, and valves. You will perform manual setups, basic programming codes, and precise measurements to ensure high-quality production. The position requires accurate documentation of inspection results and regular use of technical drawings and schematics in a machine shop environment.

Responsibilities
  • Operate HAAS CNC centers and bar feed lathes to produce metal brackets, handles, valves, and other machined components.
  • Perform manual setup and adjustment of feeders and other tooling equipment to meet production requirements.
  • Execute basic CNC setup codes and make necessary machine adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
  • Inspect finished and in-process products using micrometers, calipers, and height gauges to verify dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
  • Record inspection findings and production data accurately in the company database.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints and schematics to guide daily machining tasks and ensure correct part specifications.
  • Handle and lift materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the workday in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures within the machine shop.
Essential Skills
  • Experience operating CNC machines, including HAAS CNC centers and bar feed lathes.
  • Proficiency in manual setup and adjustment of CNC feeders and tooling equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic CNC setup codes and machine operations.
  • Strong skills in using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematics for machining tasks.
  • Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds repeatedly during the workday.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when inspecting parts and entering data into a database.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • 2-year CNC-related degree or at least 2 years of experience in CNC operation and manual setup.
  • Any CNC programming experience is a plus.
  • Comfort working with a variety of metal materials in a production environment.
  • Basic computer skills for entering inspection results and production data.
  • Commitment to following safety protocols in a machine shop setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
