The Gastroenterology (GI) Department seeks a full‑time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant/Associate to join the busy, growing community practice. The APP will primarily have clinic responsibilities, eventually trained to cover inpatient practice when needed. You work collaboratively with all GI physicians, providing patient care and telemedicine.
Primary Responsibilities- Obtain GI‑specific histories and physicals.
- Order, interpret, diagnose, and communicate diagnostic results to patients and care team members.
- Devise and implement care plans.
- Facilitate and deliver patient education regarding GI conditions.
- Provide GI follow‑up care.
- Provide care unique and specialized to gastroenterology, nutrition, hepatology.
Nurse Practitioner: Master’s graduate of an accredited nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current MN RN and APRN license and certification as ANP, FNP, or ACNP.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited PA program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the MN State Board of Medical Practice.
Additional Qualifications- Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within one year of hire date.
- Experience strongly preferred; new graduates considered.
- Ability to work independently/autonomously and collaboratively with other health care professionals.
- Extensive patient assessment skills using diagnostic methods and instruments.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and health care team.
- Practice patient‑centered evidence‑based care.
$ – $ per year (1.0 FTE)
ScheduleFull Time, Monday – Friday, days; 80 hours per week. No weekend shifts.
