Job Description
As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda, you will support the operation of the plasma donation center under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. Your role includes determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. You will assist with medical procedures, vaccinations, and serve as a resource for medical and technical issues.
Additionally, you may support pandemic preparedness and investigations.
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and apply appropriate SOPs for medical emergencies, including coordination with the Center Physician and transport to emergency care.
- Refer unacceptable findings or guidance needed on medical or technical issues to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs.
- Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or a graduate equivalent nursing program with state requirements.
- Current state license or certification as Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA-approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Hourly Wage Range$35.20 – $48.40 per hour (actual wage may vary based on experience, credentials, and location).
