Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in implementing the overall Quality System at Amcor Healthcare Packaging Mankato.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 13485 and FSSC 22000 through support of internal auditing, document control, and training system administration.
- Perform in‑process inspection of product using drawings, specifications, and other pertinent information; document and communicate inspection results.
- Ensure product inspection and test plans are accurate and clear.
- Generate and retain calibration records and quality records such as completed control charts and job jackets.
- Make decisions on the suitability of product and raw materials based on requirements.
- Review specific production records and packing configurations to ensure accuracy.
- Create and file accurate, legible quality records.
- Support Continuous Improvement activities by identifying and quantifying potential waste in processes, participating in formal Continuous Improvement teams, and leading a Continuous Improvement project.
- Participate in internal auditing activities.
- Assist in training personnel in inspection methods and quality requirements.
- Perform inspection and measurement of sample parts for new product validation.
- Help maintain the calibration system for measurement devices.
- Assist in training other personnel in inspection methods and quality requirements once proficient.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Work safely and maintain a safe work environment: attend required training, identify and report hazards, wear required PPE for the position, and be accountable for self as well as co‑worker safety.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalency.
- 1–2 years of experience in industry is a plus.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a quality technician is preferred.
- ASQ (American Society for Quality) quality technician certification is desired.
- Ability to read drawings and interpret data related to specific quality criteria determined by customers.
- Must be able to use hand‑held measuring devices.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles and methods.
- Ability to work effectively with others and make quality‑related decisions in the best interest of Amcor Healthcare Packaging Mankato and other customers.
- Regularly stand, sit, and walk; considerable manual dexterity for use of testing equipment, computer keyboard and mouse.
Compensation:
Starting salary is expected to be between $41,400 and $51,800; base pay may vary within the full range of $41,400 to $62,200 depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
