Spherion Staffing is partnering with a premier electronics manufacturer in the Mankato area to hire a Quality Manager. This is a Direct Hire opportunity: you will be hired directly onto our client's payroll from day one, with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
As the Quality Manager you will lead the Quality Engineering team, maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), and champion a culture of continuous improvement. We seek candidates with a strong background in electronics manufacturing and a passion for operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS), including document control, record retention, and work instructions.
- Ensure strict compliance with customer flow-downs, regulatory mandates, and electronics manufacturing workmanship standards.
- Lead, train, coach, and develop the quality engineering team and cross‑functional personnel on inspection methods and problem‑solving tools.
- Lead root cause analysis and Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA) using structured problem‑solving methods to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee customer quality activities (complaint handling, 8D responses, RMAs) and manage supplier performance (approvals, scorecards, and incoming defect containment).
- Lead internal, customer, supplier, and third‑party audits, coordinating readiness and closure evidence.
- Monitor and report key metrics (scrap, yield, DPMO, COPQ) and oversee incoming, in‑process, and final inspection activities.
- Previous experience in an electronics manufacturing environment, including direct exposure to PCBA or electromechanical assemblies.
- Solid experience working within a Quality Control or Quality Management System (QMS) environment.
- Proven ability to read and interpret customer assembly prints, blueprints, and complex quality documents.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, excellent mathematical/statistical capabilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with professional English proficiency.
- Ability to pass pre‑employment drug screening and criminal background check.
