Summary
The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager positions primarily focus on creating the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests. AIT and Assistant Managers perform various sales, merchandising, and operational tasks—cashiering, merchandise display, register procedures, and routine cleaning—assigned by store management. They work with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new teammates, provide leadership, train and motivate teammates, and act as the Store Manager in their absence.
The Assistant Manager is a progression from the AIT position, carrying additional high‑level duties while sharing many responsibilities.
Pay range: $16–$20/hr the range is budgeted; final offers are based on skill, experience, location, qualifications, and other factors. For sales positions, Buckle pays a base rate plus commission on sales.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Sales Generation and Guest Service- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service.
- Answer questions about the store and merchandise.
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs.
- Anticipate and fulfill guest needs by suggesting additional items.
- Share product knowledge and sales education with teammates.
- Maintain knowledge of sales, promotions, payment policies, and security practices.
- Achieve personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales, and net sales goals.
- Deliver legendary service throughout the store: front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register.
- Know exchange and return procedures and use them as show‑manship opportunities.
- Fill out and use the Sales Presentation Guide daily to meet goals.
- Meet or exceed performance standards in all Buckle business builders and guest loyalty.
- Expand guest selection through inventory, advanced product search, and iPad apps.
- Build and maintain good guest relationships for client‑based business.
- Lead by example and communicate guest levels with the team.
- Ask business‑driven and show‑manship questions to managers and teammates.
- Coach and welcome feedback to improve sales presentations.
- Plan sales goals with the Store Manager.
- Own store’s sales performance across metrics.
- Show passion for product education and show‑manship to create results.
- Recognize recruiting opportunities via jobs cards, email referrals, and teammate recommendation.
- Coach and build relationships through guest loyalty programs.
- Develop skills and assist in leading, directing, motivating, and educating new teammates.
