Job Summary
Shift: 2nd shift (Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm to 2:00am).
Work location:
On‑site (Mankato, MN). Salary: $24.81 to $29.45 per hour plus a 10% shift differential. Pay frequency: bi‑weekly.
- Perform assigned work to rig, move, install, and erect machinery and equipment involved in plant operations.
- Coordinate operations with electricians, maintenance machinists and other trades involved in erecting, dismantling and reassembling to expedite work and avoid delays.
- Perform general building repairs and maintenance work on heating, air conditioning and plumbing systems.
- Diagnose and repair basic functions of hoists, cranes and other material‑handling equipment.
- Construct and repair structural woodwork and equipment.
- Conduct sheet‑metal, carpentry, concrete and roofing repairs requiring a fundamental knowledge of trade basics.
- Work from drawings, diagrams, specifications, job layouts, sketches and verbal instruction.
- Use tools, materials and equipment typical of the trades.
- Install and maintain all water, air, gas and sewer lines.
- Inspect and recharge all fire extinguishers.
- Maintain air compressors and all gas‑fired ovens and heaters in the shop and office.
- Perform duties as directed by the supervisor in the same salary grade or below.
- High‑school graduate with courses in mechanical drawing, shop mathematics, shop practices and other related vocational school courses.
- Formal on‑the‑job training or equivalent program.
- Ten thousand (10,000) hours of experience required to attain proficiency in millwrighting and related trade techniques.
- Must be a sole U.S. citizen.
