Job Summary
Under limited supervision, set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on assigned conveyors, automation, robotics and ancillary equipment as needed.
- Perform routine troubleshooting of assigned out-of-service equipment, correct issues, act as an escalation point for production technicians, and elevate to leadership or senior technicians as required.
- Record all maintenance issues in the maintenance log for each line.
- Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ticketing systems, maintaining accurate records of all operating logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems tested on a routine basis.
- Perform root-cause analysis of major downtime events.
- Assist maintenance mechanics in work that requires two people or when operational needs demand.
- Perform facility/building project work as assigned, including tasks such as light bulb/ballast replacement, door repairs, furniture installation, ceiling tile replacement, carpentry duties, plumbing repairs, and maintaining operation logs.
- Assemble and test equipment to verify correct operation and production.
- Analyze and record causes of production delays on daily production reports, initiating procedures to resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Examine defects and analyze spoilage causes; where possible, take corrective action and verify that the action has eliminated the problems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 or more years of experience repairing and maintaining conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment.
- Experience with wastewater systems.
- Forklift experience required.
- Fundamental understanding of machinery and equipment.
- Basic skills in multiple computer software packages, including Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems and the ability to troubleshoot these systems.
- Frequently move, lift, and carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
- Stand for a minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours, up to 6 days a week.
- Operate ladders, stairs, and work at heights; work from a lying-down position; work with hands above head.
- Operate material-handling equipment (e.g., forklift).
- Write documents and reports using writing instruments and computers; read small print (drawings).
- Follow safety procedures such as Lock Out/Tag Out and Arc Flash, and use personal protective equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment and ensuring a safe work environment.
- Travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes within and outside the state.
- Work overtime and be available for on-call requests as needed.
- Associate's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or equivalent.
- Graduate of an apprenticeship program or holder of a current trade certification.
- 3 or more years of experience in a building-maintenance position servicing a facility larger than 75,000 sq ft.
- Anticipated salary range: $26.25 - $38.00 per hour (actual salary varies by location, education, experience, skills, and abilities).
