Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Are you a skilled Maintenance Technician looking for a Direct Hire opportunity with a stable schedule? Spherion Staffing is seeking experienced maintenance professionals to join our manufacturing partners in Mankato, Lake Crystal, and St. Peter!
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be a key contributor to operational success, ensuring that high-speed production equipment operates at peak efficiency. If you have hands‑on experience in industrial maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance, we want to hear from you!
Locations & Compensation- Mankato, MN – $25.00+ per hour; 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday 3:30 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
- Lake Crystal, MN – $25.00–$32.00 per hour;
Weekend Shift: Friday – Sunday 5:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. - St. Peter, MN – $24.00–$30.00 per hour; 2nd Shift: Monday – Wednesday + every other Thursday 4:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.
- Troubleshooting & Repair:
Diagnose malfunctions in production machinery, including relays, motors, position sensors, and circuit boards. - Preventative Maintenance:
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime. - Electrical Maintenance:
Repair or replace electrical components such as transformers, switches, and lighting fixtures. - Fabrication:
Use metalworking tools (lathe, drill press, grinder) to repair broken parts or fabricate custom solutions. - Equipment Commissioning:
Assist in the setup, leveling, and commissioning of new machinery and robotic equipment. - Documentation:
Maintain detailed logs of work orders, parts inventory, and machine status using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). - Safety Compliance:
Ensure all equipment operates in compliance with OSHA standards and company quality protocols.
- Experience with complex mechanical, hydraulic, and robotic maintenance within a high‑volume manufacturing facility.
- Skilled at efficiently diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment to minimize downtime.
- Proficiency with interpreting schematics and blueprints.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks (standing, bending, climbing) for extended periods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with PLCs is preferred.
